Dear All,

I have iphone 3G, with 3.0 official unlock. I'm a bit curious why everytime i went abroad and turn on my iphone, it will takes at least 5 min to search for new network. Even tough, it's been set to automatic.
The same thing happened when coming back to home country, keeps on searching the network/carrier. At the beginning it shows list of network, but when i choose my operator, it won't register straight away.
My other phone Nokia N95, will search and automatically choose the carrier almost straight away.

Has anyone experience this before? Any solution to speed the process?

any reply will help...

Thanks

Reason for this is that is when you go abroad you move onto that countries server, or HLR (home location register) and moving your account from one country to another can take a few minutes. Some phones will do it automatically when its turned on, such as the N95, whereas others such as the iphone, will only do this when you search and then select that country network.
