Very sluggish performance using Firefox 45.0.1

Hello, after adding a SD drive on my MBP 2010 17", it was like a new computer for a month. For the past few days, I found the performance very sluggish. I often see the beachball and often there are pauses when I type each key. It might be caused by Firefox. Anybody has the same issue? I use 10.11.3.
