OK, I got a new battery (A1185), and it worked great for a couple of weeks. I fully charged it, then removed it. When I put it in next, it seems dead. I plug in, take a look, and see that iStat gives it a 99% health, 36 cycles, and a 0% charge. After charging it for about an hour, during which time the bottom light was flashing, I took it out, pressed the power indicator, and the bottom light flashes on/off very rapidly for the same 3 seconds that a normal one lights up for. It remains at 0% no matter how long I leave it on for.

Any ideas? Anybody ever heard of anything like this? Tried it in 2 other MacBooks, same thing. Currently using another battery and it works just fine. Any help is appreciated.

I'm no expert but...

It sounds like your battery is defective and no longer capable of holding a charge - you would reasonably expect a battery to last for at least a year or so, depending on usage.

I would take it back for a refund/replacement.
