Whenever I slide my iPhone 5 up the left hand rest, my macbook goes to sleep. This is very odd.. also, the only way I can seem to wake it up after this is to unplug and re-plug in the charger.

Is this happening for anyone else? I'll post a video if you guys want.

MacBooks use a magnetic sensor to detect when the lid is closed. I imagine there could be something magnetic in the phone that could confuse your rMPBP.

Good thinking. I bet this is also why my ipad3 goes to sleep when I touch it with the ipad2. Never thought of the cover sensors...

Well that's frustrating because I always rest my phone there. Thanks for the info.

When I worked in a service center we would have at least 1 computer a month come in with a broken screen from something left on it when it was being closed. Usually it was a pen or something above the top row of keys, but anyway, it stuck with me and to this day I don't set anything on my laptop.
