The blurs in NC and Glances look awful on my watch, is this normal? I took screenshots but they look right in the pictures. On the watch the blurs have no fade like on iOS. They're just solid splotchy patches. Is this how your is?
 
Yes I also see this - it's not as noticeable in daylight, but at night it looks pretty bad. Same with the Solar face - no smooth gradient fading to black.

I assume it's a limitation of the OLED screen.

Go to the watch app on your phone - General/Accessibility - turn on Reduce Transparency. That will make everything easier to see and saves some battery life as well.
