Hello.

I have a 16GB iPod Touch (1.1.4, jailbroken).

Recently the Music app has started crashing often, and in a very weird way: it produces a small "player" overlaid over the Springboard, and then freezes. Subsequently the audio stops playing and I find myself staring at the Springboard - the iPod itself doesn't crash and I can just restart the Music app.

I thought I was half mad, and I didn't know how to describe the phenomenon adequately, but today I had the presence of mind to take a (blurry) photograph of the overlaid player. Unfortunately the photo's quality isn't very high because I took it with a Nokia cellphone while on a train.

Is this a known occurarance? Does it classify as "interesting" in any way?

Most obliged for any comments.

I'm not sure, but the way to get that mini controller usually is quickly tapping Home twice.

i suggest doing a restore since you don't seem to have many apps on your ipod yet. the last thing you want is setting up your ipod the way you like it, thinking you fixed it, and the main function of the ipod doesnt work!

Is it just the lighting, or is it cracked?

try a restore, if it does not help, appl is your best bet!

I've restored, re-jailbroken, and it seems to be working ok now.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's so obvious it never occurred to me.

(Incidentally, the screen isn't cracked, it's just the awful lighting condition reflecting off the glass.)
