Hey,

I have a flat pannel VGA monitor kicking around, I want to use it as a tv. does anyone know of any affordable way to do this? (ie, a DVD player with VGA out, or a RCA to VGA breakout box?)

not sure if this even exists, but wanted to know for sure

Wanting to use it as a TV monitor for viewing television programs is one thing ... but if you want to use it as an external TV monitor for your NLE, I'd strongly advise against it.

I'd agree it's not worth it, there are SCART to VGA adapters but here in the UK there around £90 to £120, you can get a cheap LCD tv for less.
