Having an issue with my 2008 unibody MacBook Pro. Using a Mini DisplayPort adapter for a VGA connection does not work through OS X (latest version of Mountain Lion). When plugging in the adapter, my screen goes blue, then nothing happens on my monitor. Occasionally it might work, but would randomly go out or the image would become distorted (like the image would be displayed 8 times on the screen with lines through it). This happens on multiple monitors. Tried it on both a Samsung LED Monitor and my Samsung LCD TV.

I thought the issue might be my adapter, but then I tried to output through bootcamp and it works perfectly. No issues there. Has anyone had this issue before or know how to resolve it?

I'm having the same issue except with Mini-to-HDMI. My screen turns blue for a second, but nothing changes on the external monitor.
