VGA to older Macbook(5, 2)

i have a question. I bought this new LED monitor that came with a VGA cable. I want to connect the new monitor to my Macbook (regular macbook-2008- it does NOT have a Mini DisplayPort). The only adapters i can find are VGA to MiniDisplayPort and DVI to mini DisplayPort. Is this impossible?

Works perfectly

I have got a similar setup and I use the mini DVI to VGA adapter, just check out apple or amazon

Best Buy may stock them, I would just buy one from amazon and get super quick delivery
