Universal Viber badges not updating

This has been happing a while now. I think with other apps too but mostly noticing with Viber.

The number badges for new/unread messages does not update between devices. If I check all the messages and lose the badge on my iPhone this does not reflect on my iPad.

Is there anything I can try to fix this?

Pretty sure that's on the developer's own responsibility as each push notification comes with a number from the app's server and the developer should be sending silent push notifications (that don't display anything but update the badge count).

This isn't a feature commonly handled by apps beside messaging apps.
