I just got a hold of Viber and love the ease of use and call quality. However it seems like I'm losing over 1 hour of battery life by keeping it running. Anyone else have this problem ?

Anyone experience the same thing? I posted this back when I had a 4S and now its still the same on my 5 despite vibers claims of it not using much battery. I find that even with the app closed and not in the fast switch menu it will still drain the battery. I get about 6-7 hours of use on my iPhone 5 with viber on and easily 8-10 hours without it. And thats with just having the app installed and not being actively used.

I have it installed on my 3GS but actually not used it much.

But, it could be you have conflicting Apps on the phone, have you ever tried to have a clean iPhone and only install Viper and see if it is still the same?
Also, is Viper Location Aware, Location Services can eat your battery.

Yup I only do clean installs when I first setup my phones and never restore from backups.

Not sure if you are just misspelling viber to viper but is there a way to stop viber from using location services?

Viber-Viper is almost the same, just typed wrong.

What I meant was, after clean install install viber only, nothing else.

Viber does not show up in Location Services so I guess it's not using it.

Viber Battery Drain

I did notice that my battery was draining way too fast right after the Viber install - using an LG cell phone
I have removed Viber and now the battery is once again surviving longer.
:)
