Viber problems

I have used viber on my iphone 6 last 3 months with no problems, until 2 weeks ago. Like when someone texts me on viber, it doesnt show the correct number of unread messages, instead for example there are 3 messages but on the viber icon shows like 15, 17 or even more. It happens on calls as well ( i have 1missed call - but on viber icon shows like 11, 12 missedcall.

I dont know what is causing this, can anyone help?

Not sure what the issue is but I have the same thing happen. I do know when I open Viber it counts things like new stickers available so it could be that.

No issue for me, but do you know if Viber requires DATA? I did a google search and it says, wi-fi or data, but when I turn data off, I don't get text messages even with only wi-fi on.

My mom doesn't have a data plan on her 6+ and can't make Viber calls on home wi-fi. She can only receive calls. I may have to get her data if required for Viber.
