Vibrate not working for iPhone

I have an iPhone 3Gs, and since last week whenever I got texts my phone wouldn't vibrate. It still vibrates for phone calls though. I've tried everything I could possibly think of (changing setting, restoring, changing certain files using SSH etc.) and vibrate still doesn't work for texts. Can someone please help me?

My vibrate motor has also stopped working.

If it vibrates for phone calls but not for SMS then it is likely a software issue rather than a hardware issue. Probably not the suggestion you're looking for, but you could try restoring the entire software using itunes.
