Vibrate on txt and ring on calls?

I recently got an iPhone 3GS and I'm wondering if there is a way to make it vibrate when I get a new text and have a ring tone when I get a call. Right now it's either all vibrate, all sounds, or all both. I'm gonna JB it soon, is there an app I can download to let me do this?

I would LOVE for this option as well. I only want it to vibrate when I get a txt, but play a sound for all other alerts... I don't think there is a way though unfortunately

You'd technically be able to do this, but it would require jailbreaking the device, and using a "silent" ringtone for SMS and MMS messages. You would have the phone vibrate and ring for both SMS and Calls, but it would only play a sound when calls came thru.

Ohhh...your right. I think that must be a glitch. Why would apple make it that way and then have a vibrate on of option too?...

No clue but I agree there should be a "silent" text alert. Not everybody wants to JB.

I'm not jailbroken myself, so unfortunately, that's all the info I can provide. I'm 100% certain someone else will fill in my gaps shortly though.

What about making a recording of nothing, and setting it as your text message sound. It should still vibrate, and Ring & vibrate when you get a call.

Check in Cydia. I'm pretty sure there's some that have already been hosted. If not it's just a question of which application you use to create a blank sound file.

You can't create a custom txt sound though.

The problem for me is that the vibrate is not strong enough.
