Hello MacRumors,

I have a problem. My vibrate switch does, and does not work at the same time. For some reason, it now goes too far down so if I switch it to the vibrate setting, it stays in the non-vibrate setting. But if i nudge the switch a little with my finger, it will briefly flicker into the vibrate setting and then return back to the non-vibrate setting. Hopefully you can understand that...

Well now I am looking for some kind of solution to this. All and any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Other than taking it to Apple, I guess you could replace the faulty switch.

Fixing the switch

Any ideas on how I might do so on my own :D

Theirs allot of tutorial videos on YouTube that will walk you thru the process step by step. As far as the part you have dozens of online retailers to choose from. I've taken a few iPhones apart for repairs in my day. The first time is always the scariest but after that it's a piece of cake. Just be patient and take your time.

Good luck!
