I am a recent refugee from the Windows world and have some questions about ripping, storing and managing video content. I have read many other threads in these forums on this topic but must confess that none have yielded a solution for my particular situation so I am going to start anew.

I have been using a Mac Mini as my home media center for 2 years now. My primary computer was a PC and my workflow for video content was to rip .iso files on the PC using DVDShrink and store them on a RAID server. I would then access the content from the Mini.

I recently replaced my PC with a MacBook Pro. I am ecstatic to be Windows free (except for Quicken - what's up with that?) but I haven't been able to figure out how to replicate my video workflow in OSX.

So here are my questions...

Is there no program that will rip .img or .iso files in OSX? I have found a few programs that store disc images in a proprietary format but I don't like that.

I have thought about ripping to MP4/H.264 files but am I correct that I would lose menuing capabilities in that format? For concert videos and music videos, MP4 is fine, especially since I frequently transfer that content to my iPod, but I would like to preserve the menus for movies.

Speaking of concert videos, is there an easy way to rip chapters into individual mp4 files in a single pass so I can then store each song from a concert in iTunes and shuffle them with the rest of my mp3s?

Regarding .iso files, I could continue using DVDShrink by booting my Mac into Windows but I would really prefer to stay in OSX as much as possible.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!
