I have two large video files, an avi file and a mpg file, and I would like to burn one of them to DVD for playback in my non-computer DVD player. iMovie and iDVD won't allow me to burn a DVD (iMovie won't import either) so......do I have any options that will allow me to burn one of these files to a DVD?

You have to convert them to .dv for iMovie and iDVD to work with them. Those programs only work with DV video. iDVD will then recompress it to MPEG2 for hte DVD. You will probbly lose a lot of quality, but that is the only way I know of how to do it.
