Video capture from Quicktime - framerate issues

OS X 10.5.6, Qucktime Pro 7.5.5, Macbook Pro (mid 2007), 2.4GHz.

Capturing video from the built in iSight in Quicktime used to capture at 25 FPS, now it will only capture at exactly 10 FPS, regardless of which quality setting I choose. my old Firewire 400 iSight still captures at 30 FPS.

Has anybody else seen this happen?

frame rate reduction

ya, it happened to me last fall.
I use the isight and quicktime intensively for rehearsals in the dance theater field and now I am thoroughly bummed. Been hoping for a work a round ever since. Maybe even worth going back to earlier OS just for full frame rate feature while in H264 recording.
