Video Capture with Mac Mini and webcam?

I want to use my webcam with my Mac Mini and capture video for an imMovie I am making. My webcam is a Gear Head WC875FT which works in iChat and Skype. However when I try to capture video with iMovie (09) I get the message that no video camera is connected.

How can I get iMovie to recognize my webcam or what kind or webcam should I buy?

My mini has an intel chip and runs OSX 10.5.6
