Video Capture

I have a G5 single 1.8 and a radeon 9600 XT graphics card. Me and a friend would like to make a movie containing gameplay from Battlefield 1942. I have tried various programs that capture the screen footage but the tend to take up a ton of ram and slow down the game immensly. Can anyone help me? Is there any hardware devices that can be used through firewire? Any better programs or a way to minimize battlefield?

yo could just hook up if u have it ur dv cam to the tv ur playing on.

Is there anyway to hook up a dv camera to the G5 and capture the screen. Normally I know that the camera must be controlled through such programs as imovie.
