I cannot find an answer for this, or even anything like it, on any site I have been on in the past few days, and I have been searching almost non-stop.
I recently installed Windows XP Pro on my Macbook. I got Bootcamp, partitioned 32GB to windows, and followed through all of the set up junk. I have SP2 installed as well, and all of the Mac drivers. I updated as much as I could, up until it wanted to verify that I had an authentic product key for XP Pro, I didn't do that for reasons that I won't get in to...
Anywho, it appears that all works well when I'm doing basic things. I have firefox installed, and it works great, but if I wanted to surf the web I'd be on OS X using safari.
I installed windows to play games, which does not work right now. I can install them fine, but when I try to run them a variety of things happens:
With CS: Source: I can see the loading screen(main screen but it says loading in the bottom right) and after it is done loading it turns black. I can minimize and my desktop appear fine, task manager says it is running well, but it is black. I maximized again and scrolled through with my mouse blindly, and I could hear the clicking when I went over buttons, and selected one and a little white thing appeared in the center of the screen(looked about 1 pixel wide by 3 pixels high, and it sort of looked like a mini white flame).
With Elder Scrolls:Oblivion: Any windows user knows the message I got here. "The program encountered an error and will now close. Blah blah blah, would you like to send an error report? I hit no.
I'm assuming it is a video card driver issue, what do you guys think, and more importantly, what can I do about it?
Thanks for the help/time
