I have absolutely no feel for what a "good" video card is as installed in various iMacs. i have a (new-to-me) iMac Core i3/3.2 GHz coming and it has an ATI HD 6750 512MB video card in it.

Since I do no gaming (on or offline) and use it mainly for processing photos, does anyone want to throw in their two cents worth on the value/reliability of this card vs. any other kind of card from any other manufacturer?

Any specific sites (other than Radeon's) that I can visit to give me pros/cons or comparisons?

Tnx.

6000-series AMD cards are generally pretty decent in terms of reliability*. You can't really (easily) replace it anyway.

* The only exception was the issue with the 6970M.

There is only a few video cards that will work in any given iMac model. For photo editing your card should be just fine.

Thanks - just wasn't sure. What about video cards in older iMac G5s (pre-Intel)? I have a second older iMac with an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra w/64MB DDR SDRAMw/ AGP 8x support installed in it. any input on THAT?

Thanks again.
