I've got a dual 500 G4 that's aging but I'm not ready to part with it.

So one of the things I want to upgrade is the video card.

Anyone have recommendations as to what would be a good choice. Not sure if AGP or PCI makes much difference. I don't do gaming, just design and video production.

Gaming or not, a bette video card is always good.

First AGP is newer you want to check first if you have it and second what you want it to cost.

I've got an AGP slot. I think it's probably just 2x though since this machine was purchased in the fall of 2000.

If I have an AGP slot does that definitely mean I don't want to go with a PCI card?

Cost: less than $200

Go with the 8500. Faster, cheaper, and...well that's it. Get one off ebay for cheap.
