Video Card Upgrade?

Hi, I'm just getting into mac computers. I just picked up a Mac G5 to mess around with for $130 and to do photo editing and getting familiar with the apple experience on the cheap.

The model I picked up was the:

M9455LL/A

So basically I have an AGP slot to work with, not to sure what to use if I went this route.

But the other route I was thinking may or may not work is using a PCI-X to PCI-E X4 converter and us a low profile video card instead. Here's the link for that:

That'll give you a good boost, it's what I've got now, just upgraded from a Radeon 9600 XT a few days ago, comes with instructions and the extra power connector. It's 8x AGP. I'll stick up some benchmarks later today

Thanks, I look forward to that, since I don't have my G5 yet, going to waiting for it to get to me in the mail, I have plenty of time to do research. So far I've seen the Nvidia 7800GS AGP 8x card when it's flashed is a good card to get.

great card that x800xt, but i wouldent pay that price for it. maybe 40 bucks and flash it yourself.

A flashed 7800 is the way to go. I picked one up for 129 dollars shipped. Awesome performance. Its a flashed card and you can hear the fan run but you cant beat it for playing some doom 3 and kotor.
