Video Card upgrades

I think this is the right forum to post this if not move it were ever,

My friend is selling his desktop PC's parts becaues he just got a new laptop and dosn't fill like he needs his desktop any more. Amoung the parts I found out hes selling his video card he bought like a year ago, a Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra for 150 dollars. I was wondering if that card would work inside my simi new Power PC I bought or will it not work becaues it came from a PC. I'm still pretty new when it comes to the whole Apple thing so im not sure what is comptable and whats not.

I think you can Flash the 6800 Ultras to the mac platfrom. Do a search, you should pull up something.

I don't think that will work without a flash of some sort and even if you are able to flash it, it may still exhibit strange behavior.

I recommend you check eBay or the Marketplace forum for a mac equivalent.

There's an article on hardmac.com, I think it was May 3rd, that talks about how to flash a PC 6800 for use on a Mac. The one problem: You lose DVI (VGA out only).
