Video Chat--what do I need?

Hey All--

I'm looking to setup video chat between me and my girlfriend...she has a dell laptop I have a G4 desktop. Neither of us has a camera yet.

Whats a good cam for her? Inexpensive, plug and play are requirements. Also should fit easily in a laptop bag, possibly clip onto the top of her display.

Whats a good cam for me? I know iSight is real high quality and all, but I'm not sure I want to drop that much cash.

And then, what software to use? If she has the most recent version of AIM, can I use iChat? Does AIM for OS X support video chat? (Doesn't seem to me like it does but maybe I'm missing it.)

You could always get great picture with the apple isight which only you couold operate on your mac.

I would just go to bestbuy or even radio shack and pick up a logitech webcam.

you need ichat av she needs aim and you both need camreas done

Watch out for router problems. My brothers router config needed serious adjustments right out of the box to get ichat working.

Yahoo Instant Messenger Mac and PC versions will do video and text. No audio, but you can then both get any cheap USB cameras.
