Video clips to iTunes and not iPhoto

I've just downloaded video clips & pictures from a holiday taken on an iPod Touch and Nikon camera's SD card to my iMac. I presumed it would copy the video clips to iTunes, and the photos to iPhoto, but they're all (both clips and photos) in iPhoto. I want the video clips in iTunes so I can copy to my iPad. How do I move them now, and why did it put them in iPhoto and now iTunes?

Great question. I have the same issue. A bunch of little video clips from my camera and iPhone that live in iPhoto. Is iPhoto acting like a media storage device. I actually wondered why they weren't going to iMovie instead. In either case, is there a way to have them show in more than one program, iPhoto, iTunes, etc. but only reference the same file!
