iPod Video conversion problems

I have some music videos on my computer in the mpg and mpeg format. I found a converter which allowed me to convert it into an itunes and ipod compatable format. I upload one of these converted videos onto my ipod (30 g video) and it says it is in there, I can watch the video when my ipod is plugged into my comp through itunes, but I take the ipod off, and the video is nowhere. Any solutions?

actually maybe not unless the newer version can output into a format that the ipod will reconize... could you post your results when you figured it out.
