Hey,
I was wondering if there was any good free 100% video converters for the touch.
Just got mine yesterday and a DVD I ripped onto it looks like very poor quality? And I think the iPod converter on that converter was meant for the classic.

And I've also noticed the videos have to be in mpeg4 format. Or there any good converters for that too? Thanks. :)
Oh, and I'm on a PC by the way.

Don't mind imaketouchtheme, his wife left him.

videora is good, but it actually made the filesize of the video larger.. and converting to mp4 youd think it get smaller... plus with only 16 gigs i cant have my videos doubling in filesize when i can make them half the size and fit many more.

so how can we convert to mp4 or mov and compress and make it work?
thanks

I swear by a program called iSquint. Its a free download and it allows you to convert videos and optimise them for your iPod Touch, without it I wouldn't have any vids on my touch!

Its also quite good for converting youtube files.

Hope this helps!

iSquint is for youtube videos only.

iSquint is an iPod video conversion app for Mac OS X.
It's many times faster than QuickTime Pro, works with almost all popular video formats, and it's infinitely free-er.
It's also really easy.
Just drag in your file, and click Start.
You can also choose "TV" or "iPod" size, set your quality, or even go all-out by playing in the Advanced drawer.
On a 1GHz G4, iSquint can convert most video files to iPod-screen-sized videos in realtime.

Winner!

for handbrake, I can't figure out how to freaking get the input to accept the file. Does handbrake only accept DVDs?

I have .wmv and .avi and others that I need converted.

Handbrake does not seem as user friendly as windows AVS converter

Being a new switcher...I too was looking for a free video converter for my Touch. After some googling, I found MPEG StreamClip. It's free, the encoded videos are of good quality...an excellent free replacement for VisualHub :)

visual hub is awesome for converting between formats... and handbrake is awesome for converting dvd's...
