My iPhone 3gs recently got wet. In an attempt to save it, I opened it and dried it with cool air. After reassembly all seems to be working except the screen is VERY light. In order to see it, it must be held up to a bright light.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

That means the backlight has gone out. So the options are to open and replace the backlight since you already have water damage which isn't covered by the apple care. The other option is to get a replacement device for $199.
