Video downloading or Screen recording

Hi..

I would like to know if there is any software or online website that i can download any video from the web (like for example news sites), or a software for mac that can make screen recording of that video.

Capto (formerly named, Voila), and Jaksta Media Recorder, are both very good at that job but aren't free.
Snaps Pro X used to be the king of the hill, but it languished for a while, and now costs about 70 bucks.
As for free options you can try ClipGrab but it's quite limited in the sites it can download from.

I barely scratched the surface, let's see what others have to add.
