I'm looking for some decent video editing software that wont burn a hole in my pocket. I've out grown iMovie 09 and looking to take the next step. I need something that can process 60fps.

I would like Final Cut Pro but that costs about $1000. Is there anything you guys would recommend for someone looking to take the next step in video editing that is under $200?

Thanks for your help guys.

I'm not sure about the 60fps requirement, but besides Apple's offerings you only other real options are Adobe Premiere or Premiere Elements.

But, if you can, I suggest waiting a few months. Apple is rumored to be close to release of a major update to Final Cut Studio. Hopefully this will include an update to Final Cut Express.

I'm also hopeful that the new FCE will be offered on the App Store at a discounted price, just as Apple did with Aperture.

Here is some info on iMovie 11 and 60fps:

If you're a student or have a student in the family, you can get Avid Media Composer for $295. I know it is a bit over budget and even as a FCP editor, I would add that to my arsenal if I was still a student.
