ok, i want to play .wmv and .avi files with quicktime and not some other software
is it possible?
is it possible?
If you download and install the DivX 6 for Mac QuickTime codec, you can handle most .avi files in most QuickTime-compatible apps. I also recommend that you search around for all of the QuickTime codecs that you can find. With rare exception, QuickTime codecs work together.sk3pt1c said:ok, i want to play .wmv and .avi files with quicktime and not some other software

This is not entirely true. The Classic version of QuickTime ships with the three Indeo® codecs--Indeo® Video, Indeo® Video 4, and Indeo® Video5. These handle the old style .avi files. I don't have an old style .avi video to test it on, but QT 7 may have support for non-DivX .avi files.Peace said:QT will not play the old Windows .AVI codec.

That's a StuffIt archive. You'll need StuffIt Expander to decompress it. It's free.sk3pt1c said:ps.i've found a free version of the divx 6 codec but it's a .sit file
