Hi all,
Last night I went through the extremely painful process of transferring my iPhone 4 and its iTunes to a new computer. First the update failed and I had to restore my phone to factory settings, but managed to restore nearly everything from a backup.
I lost my Videos and Playlists and so I re-created them using exactly the same video files as previously. I also created my Playlist exactly the same way as last time.
Here is where I have the issue. Before the crash, I could "minimise" the videos and just have the audio playing while I used other apps, etc. Now my phone REFUSES to do this. I have followed every recommendation I can find on Google without any luck whatsoever.
Basically I double tap the Home key as all recommendations say, and the mini iPod menu comes up with the volume bar, the 3 buttons (back, play, forward). I press Play and for about a split second it looks like it's going to play. But then the play arrow (top right) disappears and nothing happens, the video just sits there not playing.
As I said, I have tried every single suggestion I can find, without any luck, and am starting to feel quite desperate. This whole experience has made me love my phone much less.
I need to be able to just have the audio on these videos, because as I'm sure you all know, most music videos aren't exactly suitable to be displayed while at work. I also use my phone as my clock, so just turning it face down really isn't an option.
If someone can fix this for me, I would be extremely grateful. It's something other than the usual instructions, because absolutely none of them have worked...
Forgot to add, I've now tried this on about 10 different videos, in case it was just a rebellious video, but no luck on any of them.
