If you just got a new iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, you might be looking for accessories like cases or chargers. MacRumors videographer Dan highlighted some of his favorite iPhone cases, screen protectors, and chargers this week, so check out the video below for some product suggestions.

Cases and Screen Protectors

  • Nomad Modern Leather Folio ($70) - Apple doesn't make leather cases anymore, so if you're looking for a replacement, Nomad offers good alternatives. The Folio case folds in half, offering protection for both the front and back of the iPhone.
  • Nomad Traditional Leather Case ($60) - Available in black or brown, Nomad's Traditional Leather Case is closer to Apple's now-discontinued leather cases. It has an opening for the Camera Control button, so the case won't impede the button's functionality.
  • Nomad Magnetic Leather Back ($40) - If you don't want to obscure the sides of your iPhone and just need some protection for the back, Nomad's Magnetic Leather Back is worth checking out.
  • Beats iPhone 16 Case ($49) - Apple's Beats brand released iPhone 16 cases this year, and they're made from a protective polycarbonate material that comes in four colors. Since Apple basically designed this case, it works seamlessly with the Camera Control button.
  • ESR Tempered Glass Screen Protector ($15.50) - Prefer your iPhone naked? ESR's screen protector is easy to put on, cheap, and offers decent coverage for your screen in case of an accidental drop.
  • Moft Tripod Wallet Stand ($45) - The Tripod Wallet Stand from Moft can hold a couple credit cards and fold out into a stand for watching videos, making FaceTime calls, and more with multiple positions available.
Chargers

  • ESR Qi2 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger Stand ($101) - ESR's 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station uses Qi2, so it can charge your iPhone 16 at 15W. It is also able to fast charge the Apple Watch and charge up your AirPods, plus it has CryoBoost technology (a fan and heat dissipation) to keep your iPhone cool so it charges faster.
  • Nomad Stand One Max ($150) - The Stand One Max from Nomad also uses Qi2 to charge an iPhone 16 at up to 15W, and it has fast charging. If you're looking for something high quality, you won't go wrong with Nomad.
  • Belkin 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charger ($100) - Another Qi2 charger, the Belkin 3-in-1 Magnetic Foldable Wireless Charger has a fold-down iPhone charger and Apple Watch charger so you can use it while it's flat or while the charging stands are upright.
  • Belkin 2-in-1 Charging Travel Pad ($120) - For travel, the 2-in-1 Magnetic Charging Travel Pad from Belkin is ideal. It folds in half so it takes up little room in a bag, but it can fast charge the Apple Watch and also charge an iPhone at up to 15W. Either charger can be used with compatible AirPods.
Have a favorite case or charger for the new iPhone 16 models? Let us know what it is in the comments below.

All chargers and 3/2 in 1s are obsolete to me since they don't have the new 25W MagSafe.
Imagine spending near or over $100 for a charging setup without max speeds. It'll be in the back of your mind every time you place your phone on the charger.

I'd like to find a leather case that makes that satisfying Apple sound and draws the circle on the screen to prove it connected.

Apparently it's called case animation and only official Apple cases do this.

Beats case:

pros:
+ buttons have a nice tactile feedback due to rigidity (unlike silicone case)
+ bottom is exposed making bottom swiping easy and unobstructed (unlike silicone case)
+ very easy to disinfect super smooth surface with alcohol wipes
cons:
- plastic always feels wet and greasy, even with clean hands (unlike silicone case)
- super smooth surface has zero friction with other surfaces, causing slips and slides (unlike silicone case)
- bottom is exposed making it vulnerable and prone to damage (unlike silicone case)

I got Nomad’s leather folio and while I’m pretty happy with it, there are a few downsides that irk compared to Apple’s old folios.
  • The cover itself isn’t magnetic and, on its own, doesn’t fix into position when closed like Apple’s folios did. I’ve found that a drawback because I’m used to the magnetic cover on Apple’s folios also turning off the screen, which I prefer (and have turned off the always-on display).
  • With three cards and a couple of notes in the cover, it still sticks out a bit forward of the phone’s screen, making it kind of a loose fit, plus there’s a bit of vertical movement. Basically there could be a little less material at the spine edge for a neater fit. Even with the cover over the screen, I’m nervous that if I accidentally put coins or something in the same pocket, they’re going to get all up on the screen.
  • The optional magnetic clasp is reasonably effective, but it does get in the way a little when putting notes in the pocket. (It fits through a slit nestled in the pocket.)

Is it me or MagSafe dead?
No new products, no updated products, no certified products at all.

Maybe they will come. But normally manufacturers are informed in advance and present their products at the same time as Apple a new product or standard.

So far, there are none which support Apple's MagSafe 25W or are even designed for the new puck.

On the one hand, it's good that the open Qi2 standard has prevailed against Apple's will. On the other hand, it's a shame that certain functions of the Pro series are useless.
But perhaps also because Apple has never managed to combine the proprietary MagSafe with advantages.

The MOFT Snap Tripod stand wallet is pretty slick. But I'm pretty happy with my Apple Magsafe leather wallet.

Maybe we’ll see some of those soon. But it’s the same thing with cases, many manufacturers simply added cutouts for the Camera Action button at launch, but with time we will see cases with the button integrated

Maybe some of the more appealing MagSafe accessories are already out there, such as mounts for TVs and monitors. I’d really love one of those.

I‘m surprised not to see improved battery packs on the Apple Store, though IIRC even Apple’s own battery/silicone case combo for older iPhone Pro Max models didn’t always debut at or very close to launch.

Isn't it obvious that a case needs to stop the phone wobbling when it's flat on a table and protect the camera lenses?

Every case I've seen so far fails to do either of these two basic things!

I’d rather wait for a wireless charger that will support up to 25W phone charging. Any ideas when the top vendors will release one?

None MagSafe chargers thus not taking advantage of different settings automatically at different stands, and not only that, they don't even support the enhanced charging standard yet. I'm not buying one until they do.

Do you earn a commission on all these suggestions because they certainly aren’t anywhere near the best?

Ringke and Torras have knocked it out of the park this year and Cyril (by Spigen) have created a unique range of stunning cases.

It took a pretty long time for chargers to support the AW series 7 charging speeds. I think Apple just doesn’t give out magsafe/AW chargers to 3rd parties prior to public release.

I just want a case for my iPhone 16 Plus that doesn't intrude on the camera control button or at least will overlay and function like the camera button.

I love the Nomad Horween Leather case on my 15 Pro. I've purchased many high end Vaja cases over the years and it's a waste of my money given they are useless every time a new phone is released. Just stick with the basics.
