So i'm running VLC on both mac and on windows on my macbook. My VLC on mac skips around once every minute and a half. its barely noticeable but i notice it and it bothers the hell out of me. Mplayer does the same thing. What's the deal?

Yeah, you've been waiting two minutes. Keep your pants on.

Sorry for the correction, but according to the time stamp, he's been waiting 24 hours and 2 minutes. But it does take some time for someone to respond so I do (sort of) agree with the pants comment. :D

Does the skip happen on every video you play?

haha yeah it happens on every video. its not totally noticeable but you can tell if you pay attention and im just wondering what the deal is. BTW its playing on my external monitor but it also is on windows so i would think that would be irrelevant.

edit- they're all AVI files and i cant get that to play on quicktime so i am not sure if quicktime makes it skip.

Do you have Perian installed for quicktime?

There is also Movist (which I mainly use), mplayer extended, and media centres (plex/front row)
