I have a 1 Ghz Powerbook G4 connected to an external 22'' Samsung monitor. Most of the time this set up works beautifully, with the exception being the occasional sudden blank 22'' video screen when viewing quicktime movies or streaming movies off you tube, or even displaying certain graphic images. When this happens I have to hit Apple-Tab to switch to an application that will hopefully hide the window displaying the movie or graphic, which enables the monitor to resync with the mac and display things properly. Then I have to quickly hit Apple-Tab and then very quickly Apple-W to close the movie/graphic being displayed. This solves the issue.

So it makes me wonder if there is a Video limit or resolution limit for external monitors... like the wrong combo will lose sync with the mac.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
