So im thinking of getting the Apple Component out for my iphone 4. But from what I can tell is it only supports 480p. So is that even worth it? Im thinking of just buying an RCA set from ebay for $20 instead.

This will mainly be used for netflix, vlc, zumocast, podcasts. Im fairly sure all of these support video out.

Anyone with experience care to help out? Is the quality of either Component/Composite comparable to dvd quality on a normal sized tv? or is everything tiny and pixelated?

I used composite cables with an iPhone 3G, to view an HD movie from it to my HD TV. It was very clear and I was impressed. So I would imagine that component cables would make it look even better.
