Do I just buy the composite cable and the 30 pin adapter to be able to watch a movie from my iphone 5 to my TV? Aftermarket cable/adapters will not work? I have several movies on my iphone that I want to display out to my TV.

TIA

cheapest way nowdays might just be a Roku LT and the IOS App that goes a long with it to stream the video to your TV.

Depends on what connectivity your TV offers. I wouldn't recommend using composite.

The Roku LT has an edge in that it's the same price as the digital AV adapter which requires an HDMI cable. However, price isn't the only factor that one should consider when comparing the options.
