iPad Pro Video out?

The hdmi accessory says it only supports mirroring, anyone know if a: thats true and b: has it changed for the ipp?

seems like this would be pretty handcuffed, especially for the "creatives" target audience without a decent video out so im guessing its fine but wanted to check before spending another $50... and it may also impact my decision to return it

By default, iOS devices mirror video. But individual apps can create secondary displays; so it's really app dependent.
