I'm looking for some software that basically stretches videos height wise. My HDTV does not support 1 to 1 pixel mapping and the highest resolution it supports is 1024x768 for PC inputs, so everything I play on it is stretched to fill the 16:9 aspect ratio because the resolution is not 16:9.

So, I need software that I can set to play all videos at a stretched resolution. Does anyone know of some?

I don't really understand what you want, but quicktime can do what I think you mean. Hold down the shift key while dragging the movie window thingy.

Wow, that's exactly what I wanted. Thanks for the tip. However, is there anyway to keep the movie stretched like that in full screen mode on other media players?

nvm: I found out how to do this in VLC. You set the monitor aspect ratio under video (with advanced checked) to 4:3. This keeps everything in the right ratio.
