At first, I thought this was just a QuickTime X glitch. But now I see NicePlayer doing the same sort of thing, I wonder.
Old (mid 2007) Mac Mini, Snow Leopard: usual behavior.
New (mid 2011) Mac Mini, Lion: QuickTime X and other video players with a minimal interface (like NicePlayer) seem to be ignoring mouse based window control. Can't click on them to bring them to the top, or click on something else to bring it to the top. Upper-left "stoplight" buttons frequently ignored, etc.
To be sure, I have brought forward some old bits (like FrontRow), installed more codecs, etc. But none of that overwrites any existing system files!
My Mini has the high(er) end Radeon HD 6630M graphics, which may do some sort of hardware acceleration. Are others with different (maybe lower end) graphics hardware seeing similar behavior? Trying to decide if it's a hardware+software or a purely software issue...
This (and that Flip4Mac and Perian don't seem to work right yet) are among my top peeves, aside from the usual slowness of some apps that need updating getting the TLC they need.
