This is really weird...I have a upgraded Pismo (flawless case!) and have OSX 10.4.7 running on it, the OS and all of my programs run fine, I watch dvds and it plays them all the time. Now playing a much smaller (than dvd) video, around 200 megs to 700 megs in Quicktime, DivX, or VLC it is slow as dog poo...any ideas whats causing this and any fix?

Got it, its just odd cause I can watch a 16x9 8 gig Hi-Def dvd and it runs smooth as butter. As soon as I boot up a 700 meg file ripped from the same DVD (do that for travel, more portable, completely legal to my knowlege) it runs like crap in all the players I listed...can't for the life of me figure out what it is!

Are you running the DVD from the hard drive or from the optical? It could be that your hard drive is just not about to spin the info out quick enough? Could be wrong but I have noticed this on some stuff that I have done in the past.
