Video recording - 1080p or 720p?

During the keynote, they brought up 720p resolution in relation to the slow motion capture.

I thought the iPhone recorded video at 1080p ever since the iPhone 5 came out. Is that incorrect?

Even the 4S has 1080P recording.

OK. That clears things up a bit. I will be interested to see how this is integrated into iOS 7.
