Video recording quality?

Do we have any idea of what level of video quality we'll get when making video recordings on the 3GS?

Should I expect similar quality to that of the Flip camera? Or is that asking too much?

If there's any examples of the 3GS' video quality found online (not including the videos from apple.com) please share them.

Considering it isn't out yet I doubt very much anyone will know until it's released. It'll probably be OK, nothing to scream about though I'd imagine.

i thought i saw on a site (Gizmodo?) that it woudl be VGA 30fps.

Gizmodo has some footage up. I'm on my iPhone though so I can't post the link. It looks good though.

The Gizmodo article seems to be down, but I still could access the cached version of it.

Here's the direct quote from the article: "Quality, while not silky smooth, was enhanced through a reasonably paced on the fly autoexposure. We'll need longer to assess video quality and shooting felxibility. But we're left optimistic."

Gizmodo also had a video up that they uploaded to YouTube through the 3G S, but they removed it. Seems Apple isn't allowing it yet?

The extra pictures are gone, same with the video. I'm guessing Apple didn't like them having that up.

I guess nobody can beat Walt Mossberg to the review-punch, or Apple will take you out.
