My buddy has his original iPhone jailbroken and he showed me a video recording app... any idea if you can get this on a phone that hasn't been jailbroken?

Sorry for asking a question that's probably been asked a million times. :O
Let's see how many people yell at me for not doing a "simple search".

Try using the search button
:p

In all seriousness, you can't get the recording app without jailbreaking the phone. Besides, the video quality is terrible - not worth the hassle in my opinion.

There is a video recording app called cycorder and the quality is superb, even when transfered to a computer. I jailbroke for this app.

I wouldn't listen to those that say it isn't worth it. Cycorder produces really good video!

Agreed. Its the best video quality ive seen on a mobile phone hands down. I was even suprised that the iphones crappy camera could even produce such quality. Now it even has sound.

Best iphone 3g video recorder (and its all free) compared to the other one you have to pay $20 for and its crap.

He's saying that there are two Video recorders at the moment.

1) iPhone Video Recorder - You have to pay $20.
Pros: Sharing options included such as upload to Youtube, or E-mail.
Cons: You have to wait SOO much for the video to encode.

2) Cycorder - Free
Pros: It encodes automatically. No need to wait.
Cons: No sharing options.

But for both, you can always grab the videos using WinSCP

I would recommend Cycorder, it's free, and it works better than iPhone Video Rec.
