Hello! First time poster.

I just decided to connect my Macbook (13" and not one of the new aluminum ones) to my TV using the mini-DVI --> video and an S-video cable from there. The picture quality seems to be fine for the most part, but every now and then it kind of skips. It's not the video itself; I checked that out already. But it does still jump every now and then, particularly in scenes with a lot of action (not so much in the dialogue sequences), and it gets sort of pixelated when that happens as well.

I'm not sure if this is just a sort of lossy quality I should be expecting in connecting via S-video, which I know apart from composite is probably the weakest connection, or whether this can be fixed by tweaking a setting I haven't figured out. I've tried swapping around resolutions but the whole affair has me all confused. I have it set to the highest possible resolution, but the problem was that the video kept doing it, it seemed, even when the res was considerably lower (except then the picture wasn't very good, either).

Is there something I can do to fix this? I hope it's something I can do with my computer and not a specific media player because I'd like to be able to stream videos via Netflix and whatnot, but even mention of a player that seems able to circumvent this issue would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
