I'm wanting to do a 'video slideshow' with time synced songs for a valentines gift... Problem is, I'm not sure what's best to do this with. iPhoto, iMovie??? I have the ilife package with my imac already.
Can I use GarageBand to splice songs up?

In windows, you just use the windows movie maker to put songs and photos together on a slideshow. It's a slow process, but does the job. I'm trying to find the best way to approach this with the mac o/s and apps.

I will probably have to google this, but figured I'd ask here, too.

Thanks in advance,
Erin

May I recommend iMovie. You can add still photos and set the amount of time they display and add transitions between each photo. You can also select an audio track from your iTunes library to go along with your slide show. The micro editing features will insure everything syncs up how you like. Add a few titles and such from the templates and then export or share to many different options. And yes, you can use Garage Band to slice and dice audio. Real easy right fro your itunes library or other files. Have fun!
