I rarely worry about having the latest and greatest software for this and that because my needs on my iMac are pretty basic. But, once in awhile, when I start noticing changes, it makes me think about software I should probably have.

I watch TV and movies from websites like MegaVideo, Loombo, StageVu, etc., as well as YouTube and Hulu. What software should I have to enhance the quality and buffering speeds? (Preferrably freeware since I got knocked back to part-time at work for awhile.) Buffering speeds were never an issue until recently. Is there anything I can do about that?

I seem to have DivX issues so I never know if I have the latest, or correct version. Which video software, of any kind, is a must have? I tried doing a search but since I'm not very proficient with software, I'm not sure what I'm looking at half the time and don't know what's safe. For example, I just found CoolIris but am not sure exactly what it is. Is this just a video organizer or...?

Lastly, I don't have a problem with Pop-up ads but I sure have problems with Pop-UNDER ads. How can I prevent those?
