I usually have the PC download videos (cuz it's a desktop with much more storage space than ibook) and have the ibook open it from all over the house so i can watch anywhere!

Unfortunately, it lags! (it plays normally but skips a second or two then back to normal every 2-3 minutes)

Information:
I have an SMC wireless router, WindowXP PC, and an ibook.

PC *wired connection* to Router. Ibook has a wireless connection to router.

I use VLC on my ibook to open the video (.avi - around 170mb file) from my PC harddrive.

my brainstorming tells me the possible scenarios (but i'm not certain)...
1) ibook - low transfer rate (3 bars wireless)
2) VLC creating problems
3) SMC slowing down due to too many ports open (I use azureus bittorrent)

if u have any tips that can eliminate these problems shoot!

thanks in advance!

1. I hope everything you're doing is legal.

2. It's just a streaming lag. Your wireless network is rated at a maximum of (probably) 54Mbps within a few metres and from there it only gets worse. Either copy the whole movie onto the iBook before playing it or move closer to the wireless router for better playback. :)
